You could still order when Item "Temporarily out of stock" on Amazon

2018-05-01

(Update in 2018 May. Originally released in 2016 June) Sometimes, when an item is sold out on Amazon, you may still have a chance to order it. For example, if a deal is expired but you see "Temporarily out of stock" next to it on the web page, you can also see an Order button (or Add to Cart) is still valid, so you can go ahead to order the item by clicking the button.

1: You can order item at the same price as when it was on sale

When you see "Temporarily out of stock" and if you really want the item, you should check if the Order or Add to Cart button works. If it works, you can click it to order the item right away. You will not be charged until Amazon restores the item and ships to you.

Regardless of whether the new price of this product has changed, you still only need to pay the amount when you order, which is the current discounted price. In fact, if the new price of the item is lower than the price you ordered, you should be allowed to pay at a new price. If you don't get the lower price, you can try to contact Amazon's customer service.

Below is a screenshot of an item that is temporarily out of stock on  the Amazon website.

Order now and we'll deliver when available. We'll e-mail you with an estimated delivery date as soon as we have more information. Your account will only be charged when we ship the item.

2: When will the item be restocked?

The restock time is really depends. Some restocking is early and some restocking is late. Sometimes you may only have to wait for a few hours, but sometimes you may have to wait more than a year. If the time is too long, your order may be automatically cancelled and you will not been charged.

3: Contact Customer Service

Amazon will automatically ship the item to you if it is available. However, some buyers found that even if the item was restocked, Amazon still did not ship this item to him. Finally, he had to contact customer service to solve the problem.

There is another real case:One buyer found that the item that he ordered was available on Amazon USA, even though Amazon Canada did not restock it. So he contacted customer service and finally the item was shipped to him from the United States for the same price.
